The Youth and Press Development Organization (YPDO) in Zambia, was established in 2003. Its objective is to provide support and to address the poverty issues faced by youths and other vulnerable groups. The Organisation works towards the empowerment of youth, with the hope that the youth in turn will be able to overcome the spreading HIV/AIDS epidemic and that they will strive for sustainable development. The organization is non-governmental and non-political, run by youths.
One of YPDO’s focuses is on Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a tool for advancement of the mental and physical development of youths and children. The Access Technology Project (ATP) revolves around the establishment of a research and training center in Chililabombwe, Zambia.
